In December I plan on doing my yearly deep-dive Energy Word recap. This will feature an honest, take-no-prisoners ‘autopsy’ of the year ending; What we did right and what we frankly did wrong. I won’t sugar-coat the last year and our progress – where I got it pretty much on target, I’m going to take full credit, and where I – well – messed up, I’m not going to shy away from the mea culpas.
(spoiler alert: I think we did pretty darn well!)
I’m also going to do my yearly crystal ball predictions on the energy markets for the coming year of 2024: What I see as the major macro influences that are going to affect oil and gas prices and fossil fuel and renewable stocks. I’ll point out where I think the ‘conventional wisdom’ in energy among analysts and the financial media might be completely wrong and who might turn out to be the unexpected winners and losers next year in the energy space.
Let me say that in they past, my yearly predictions have been no substitute for regular monitoring and altering of our energy investing. They’ve never been ‘set it and forget it’ predictions. But they have provided a pretty good outline of the areas in the energy space that strike me as critical (often overlooked) and those that are inconsequential (often over-hyped). As an independent investor, those insights can be invaluable as you navigate the coming year, whether you follow my exact recommendations or are comfortable going it alone.

Now, back to the ENERGY MARKETS – oh, yeah, those. The reason I led this newsletter with the special webinar offer was because there’s really nothing much to report elsewhere in the energy space. We’re waiting for the next OPEC meeting and the likely holding of the production line by the Saudis. Anything other than this will have a significant and market-rattling result. Quite frankly, with the slow action I’m seeing, I don’t expect much. But, MbF’s been known to prove me wrong before.
If something earthshaking does happen on Thursday, you’ll hear from me on Friday. If not, it will be the regular schedule next week, with a resumption of webinars on Monday December 4th at 4PM and regular ALERTS newsletter on Tuesday the 5th.
I don’t know about you, but I’m quite enjoying the relative quiet – (despite two wars raging in oil rich areas around the world !?!)
